About the project
Ethiopian Human Rights council (EHRCO) andInclusive Vision for Democratic Ethiopia (IVIDE) are working on a joint project focusing on monitoring the administration of the criminal justice system. The monitoring will be carried out on courts, police stations, prison and dentition centers.
Duration – the project will be for period of 5 month with possible extension.
Job description
- Ensure overall operational management of the projects and delivery of results in accordance with the project documents and work plans; and joint agreement;
- Be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the project
- Act as a principal representative of the project during assurance review meetings, evaluations and in discussions and, hence, be responsible for preparation of review and evaluation reports such as the Mid-Term and Annual Project Report
- Ensure coordination with relevant departments, working groups and organization on activities of the project
- Facilitate in collection, analysis and interpretation of data in the field of implementation. Ensure availability of an up-to-date information on all critical issues related to the project;
- Assists in the preparation of regular and special reports, as well as investigations conducted by the organization.
- Provide training for project related personnel.
- overseeing qualities of implementation processes, monitor, evaluate and sharing of leanings by using M&E requirements.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualification
- LLB or above
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience preferably in component/project/program coordination, policy development and analysis, managing teams or project component. Experience around court will be considered an advantage
- Knowledge of civil society context and human rights situation in Ethiopia;
- Experience of working with relevant stakeholders from the governmental and non-governmental institutions involved into civil society, democratization and human rights issues at the national level;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems;
- Fluency in Amharic & English is required (both spoken and written);
- Knowledge of other local language is an advantage.

Job description
- Designs and maintains a database to record, compile & maintain data of the project
- Collect and analyze data form the monitors
- Issue regular reports based on the project document and work plan
- Create a heat map and monitor human rights situation progress;
- Review system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations to present and resolve issues;
- Develop and enhance spreadsheets and databases’ functionality like usage of forms and templates;
- Handle information processed confidentiality of information;
- Ensure high data quality through regular quality checks;
- Extract, filter and aggregate data through logical queries;
- Develop and create data layouts like tables, charts, graphs, heat maps and process flow diagrams;
- Collecting and disseminating data reports according to use;
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in law, Journalism or political science
- 2 years of practical experience in the field of human rights advocacy promotion including collaboration with civil society organizations in professional or volunteer capacity
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems;
- Fluency in Amharic & English is required (both spoken and written);
- Knowledge of other local language is an advantage.

About the project

Duration – the project will be for period of 5 months with possible extension.

Job description
- Monitoring courts, police stations, prison and dentition centers
- Conduct interviews with the necessary organs and individuals
- Providing timely reports
- Assist the report analyst on data collection and analysis
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualification

- Good communication skill and voluntarism experience
- Fluency in Amharic & English is required (both spoken and written);
- Knowledge of other local language is an advantage.
